My Story

A food scientist who came home to the clay

I was born and raised near Mannville, Alberta. I left for Saskatoon and came back with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture and a Master of Science, both majoring in Food Science from the University of Saskatchewan.

It was during university that my mom suggested I find a creative outlet — something to help me express myself and relax. I signed up for a few pottery classes, and I loved it. When my Masters was finished I moved back home to work on the family farm, joined the local pottery guild, and kept going.

Seven years on, my love of creating has only grown. I sell at craft shows across the province, and now teach classes to give other people the same introduction I was given. When I'm not throwing, I'm on the farm, with my family, reading, or crocheting.
